IRELAND TRIPS FOR SCHOOLS, ASSOCIATIONS, COLLEGES & UNIVERSITIES
Nobody knows how to put an Ireland trip together like we do! We have
been doing it since 1996, and we design programs specific to your
requirements. We can provide accommodation, cultural travel, cultural
experiences, outdoor activities and academic programs to suit your
needs, with assistance in flights and transfers.
Adventure Ireland programs can fulfil students’ General Education
Requirements. We usually include modules in Literature, Culture, Fitness
and History, and we would be happy to provide contacts with faculty who
have brought students to us over the last fifteen years.
Our programs are perfect for J-term, Spring Break, or during term time
as part of academic requirements.
Adventure Ireland have facilitated programs from U.S. High Schools,
Faculty-lead trips for Colleges & Universities, Specialist trips for
Clubs and Societies and Vacation Groups. We specialise in an authentic
experience which is competitively priced and excellent value for money.
Programs are designed and taught by Adventure Ireland founder Niamh
Hamill B.Ed M.A.Niamh (pronounced NEEVE) is a teacher of 20 years
experience and is currently a taking a PhD in Irish-American Culture at
Drew University, New Jersey.
She can be contacted by faculty or students at 1-973-610-5125.
Niamh is responsible for the curriculum of the Adventure Ireland
programs, a task she has enjoyed immensely since the program began in
1996. Niamh will work with the faculty organiser to put together a
program that suits the requirements of the group. See below for
descriptions of the type of programs available. Whether it is just
residential accommodation for a few days, or a detailed study program,
you can contact Niamh at info@adventure-ireland.com or call
1-973-610-5125.
We have had many colleges and universities from the USA base some or all
of an overseas trip with us. We have delivered full programs, and we
have facilitated the relocation of faculty classes here in Ireland.
Typical programs for College groups include emphasis on
1:Sports Programs (Surfing, Kayaking, Gaelic Sports, Lifeguarding,
Hillwalking, Adventure Activities)
This is ideal for students who are taking a sports course or degree in
College, and wish to combine some outdoor pursuits and qualifications
with a study-abroad experience. Sports programs also offer a cultural
element, including field trips, city visits and classes on Irish
history, culture and current affairs. Typical programs may include
visits to places such as Croke Park, HQ of the Gaelic Athletic
Association, and typical sports courses can include specialised training
in Surf and Kayaking. We are located in Bundoran, which is Ireland’s
premier surf location, and home to Eurosurf 2011.
2: Literature Programs
We are located beside Yeats County, close to the W. B. Yeats grave at
Drumcliff and the magnificent hinterland of Glencar, Lissadell, Inisfree
and Ben Bulben, much associated with both W.B and Jack Yeats (Painter.)
The West of Ireland provides a magnificent setting for studies in
Anglo-Irish Literature, and we offer classes and cultural field trips on
a variety of Irish writers, including Brian Friel, Patrick Kavanagh,
Seamus Heaney, & many more. We can also combine literary classes with
film studies, Arts & Irish Music.
3: History/ Culture/Politics
Irish political history is a fascinating subject, in particular the
recent Peace Process, Anglo-Irish agreement, and social change in
Northern Ireland. Visits to Bellfast, Stormont, Derry City, Eniskillen,
and the border towns now provide excellent research and study
opportunities for students. Classes in political and social history can
be arranged, with local and well-known guest speakers.

What they said about us....
I can't say enough great things about the Donegal Adventure Centre! In
March 2010 I brought ten students to Ireland to both understand and
experience Irish sporting culture. We spent time in Dublin and Belfast,
but our best experience of all was with Niamh and her wonderful staff at
the DAC in Bundoran. We surfed, we visited Yeats country, we bonded
through the high ropes course, and more.
All of this while staying in excellent accommodations and enjoying great
meals. My students came back from Ireland with lots to tell friends .
but the story always seems to begin in Bundoran! I would recommend the
DAC and Niamh to anyone at anytime. What's my highest recommendation??
It's that without a doubt, I will continue to bring groups back in the
future."

A group of seventeen Longwood University students and their professors
from Virginia spent the New Year Holiday at the Adventure Center. As the
Irish would say, we had a “craic” of a time…rock climbing, ropes course,
touring Budoran and the surrounding areas and admiring the surfers along
the coast. Friendly, fun and experienced staff, delicious and well
prepared meals, and delightful hostel accommodations. We WILL come
again!
