THEY SAY…..

My experience of the Adventure Ireland program was amazing! The course
was fun as well as challenging and extremely valuable. The leadership training in combination with the surfing instruction and people I was surrounded by made the course a pleasure to get into the cold water for. We had opportunities to get work or internships and immerse ourselves in the town and culture. The course is an especially wonderful opportunity for anyone looking into the field of experiential and outdoor education.

Adventure Ireland is an awesome programme; I don’t think I’ve every been in a more beautiful place, with nicer people and so much to do. We saw castles from the 12th century, round towers from the 5th century…I learnt to speak some Gaelic and also visited the village where my great-great grandparents once lived. I felt really proud that I’d come back, knowing that they had emigrated for a better life. I felt it was a privilege to come back to their town, and reconnect again. Incredible experience that will stay with me forever.

I made many international friends, there were tons of things to do and the area was unique and beautiful.  Adventure Ireland was a ton of fun.

It is only when you experience Irish generosity and friendship that you realise how rewarding it can be to stop thinking about yourself and become part of a culture that values the past and looks to the future.

I sent my uncommunicative son to Ireland. A typical teenager, he merely grunted when I gave him the ticket. He returned a different young man: fit, healthy, brimming with enthusiasm for, as he explained, a place where they ‘get your jokes’. He has gone on to do an Irish Studies programme in College, his friends visit him here, and amazingly, we travelled back there together last year- he was my guide and enthusiastic companion; I think sending him to Ireland and to the folks at Adventure Ireland was the best thing we ever did.
